What a Design-Build Firm Should Actually Measure in Organic Search

When a single project is worth $250,000, a 30 percent traffic increase tells you almost nothing. Four qualified inquiries from the right zip codes tell you a great deal.

I ask owners to track three things: qualified inquiry volume by source, the geography those inquiries come from, and the share of inquiries that reach a design agreement.

Rankings still matter, but as a diagnostic rather than a scoreboard. They explain why inquiry volume moved, not whether the program is working.

Attribution will never be perfect in a market where the buying cycle runs six to eighteen months. The goal is a directional read you trust enough to make budget decisions.
